1. When can I apply? Until when?

Once the announcement for the submission of applications for the upcoming academic year is released, the application period will be specified.

3. Which specialization should I choose?

I choose the direction that aligns with my interests, my knowledge background, and, most importantly, the professional field in which I intend to work. I will choose the specialization in “Financial Analysis and Policy” if:

a. I come from a department of economic science, business administration, accounting, mathematics, or engineering. Additionally, I can pursue this specialization if I come from a department of social or political sciences, or even law.

b. I prefer to work in the financial sector, banking, financial organizations, businesses, financial departments of private or public sector entities, institutional investors, insurance companies, or international organizations.

c. I am already working in the private or public financial sector and wish to expand my knowledge in finance and enhance my professional profile.

d. I want to acquire a solid theoretical background in economics and finance and plan to continue my studies at the doctoral level. In this case, I will choose “Financial Analysis and Policy.”
I will choose the specialization in “Applied Accounting and Auditing” if:

• I come from a department of economic science, business administration, accounting, mathematics, or engineering. I can also pursue this specialization if I come from a department of social or political sciences, or even law, understanding that the effort I will exert will be greater than that of an accounting graduate.

• I aim to pursue a career as a certified auditor-accountant.

• I can fulfill the educational proficiency requirements for the practice of the profession of a certified auditor-accountant, provided I successfully participate in the professional examinations for obtaining the title of Certified Auditor-Accountant.

• I can secure 12 out of the 15 subjects leading to the internationally recognized professional title, the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA), granted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), simultaneously with obtaining the Master’s Degree.
I will choose the specialization in “Public Auditing” if:

• I am already employed in a public sector entity, in a department or service related to financial matters, such as ministries, independent authorities, universities, hospitals, armed forces, local government, regions, insurance organizations, etc.

• I want to learn and apply the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and International Standards of Auditing, the gradual implementation of which has already begun in the Greek public sector.

• I am already employed in the public sector and want to gain a unique advantage over my colleagues: knowledge and application of IPSAS and International Standards of Auditing. At the same time, I will acquire a uniquely specialized postgraduate degree, having paid very competitive tuition fees.

• I am passionate about and have a love for auditing and accounting.

• I am already a certified auditor-accountant and wish to obtain an academic title. Through collaboration with SOEL, I will attend and be examined only in specific subjects of the study program.

• I aim to work in auditing firms, accounting firms, the financial sector of businesses, financial departments of private or public sector entities.
I will choose the specialization in “Public Auditing” if:

• I am already employed in a public sector entity, in a department or service related to financial matters, such as ministries, independent authorities, universities, hospitals, armed forces, local government, regions, insurance organizations, etc.

5. Can I study and work at the same time?

Classes for all specializations are conducted in the evenings, after 5:00 p.m.

For “Financial Analysis and Policy”: Classes are held in the evenings, after 5:00 p.m., at least three times a week. The program is particularly intensive in terms of working hours and study. If I am employed in a position with specific demands, I can follow the part-time program, which can extend up to 6 semesters.

For “Applied Auditing and Accounting”: Classes are held in the evenings, after 5:00 p.m., almost daily and some Saturday mornings.

The program is offered in 4 semesters and is full-time. Although it is highly demanding in terms of attendance and study hours, a significant portion of our students work since the nature of the subject requires practical application and experience.

“Public Auditing” is primarily, but not exclusively, aimed at working professionals. Therefore, lectures for the courses are exclusively held on Friday evenings after 5:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings.

7. How are tuition fees submitted?

The amount of tuition fees is paid in equal installments corresponding to the semesters of specialization before the start of each semester, beyond the first installment paid during registration.

9. How long is the duration of the program?

For the specialization “Financial Analysis and Policy,” the program lasts for 3 full-time semesters or up to 6 part-time semesters (part-time). For the specialization “Applied Auditing and Accounting,” the program lasts for 4 full-time semesters. For the specialization “Public Auditing,” the program lasts for 3 full-time semesters or 4 part-time semesters.

2. Are my application and supporting documents submitted online?

The application is completed and submitted electronically within the timeframe outlined in the announcement. Along with the application, the required supporting documents are electronically submitted, scanned in PDF format only.

4. Where can I work after obtaining the master's degree?

Graduates of the “Financial Analysis and Policy” specialization can find employment in banks, financial organizations, businesses, financial departments of private or public sector entities, institutional investors, insurance companies, derivatives markets, and international organizations.

Graduates of the “Applied Auditing and Accounting” specialization can be employed in auditing firms, accounting firms, in the financial sector of businesses, and in financial departments of private or public sector entities.

Graduates of the “Public Auditing” specialization typically are already employed or aspire to establish a working relationship with the public sector, such as Public Services, Ministries, Auditing Mechanisms, Public Enterprises, Local Government, Regions, Hospitals, Insurance Funds, Universities, Armed Forces, Independent Authorities, Semi-Governmental Organizations, Non-Profit Organizations, etc.

6. Is it possible to attend the program part-time?

For “Financial Analysis and Policy”: The program lasts for 3 semesters. There is an option for part-time attendance, which lasts up to 6 semesters.

The “Applied Auditing and Accounting” specialization is offered only as a full-time program and lasts for 4 semesters.

The “Public Auditing” specialization lasts for 3 full-time semesters but it is offered as a part-time program that extends to 4 semesters.

8. What are the tuition fees per specialization?

Tuition fees amount to €4,800 for the specializations “Financial Analysis and Policy” and “Public Auditing,” and €7,800 per semester for the specialization “Applied Auditing and Accounting.”

For the latter specialization, especially for degree holders according to Presidential Decree 226/1992, the tuition fees have been adjusted to a total of €3,300.

10. When do classes start?

Classes for the “Financial Analysis and Policy” specialization begin in the first week of October. For the specializations “Applied Auditing and Accounting” and “Public Auditing,” classes start, with a preparatory cycle of courses, in the month of September.
